The brick facade is aesthetically valuable among many materials that decorate the exterior of the house and is suitable for most of India’s climatic conditions. This soil treatment replaces the customary plaster surface which is economical, difficult to maintain and durable. The sculpture mass of this house is a cylindrical drum-shaped living space and a tall triangular wedge shape, the rest of the house. The boundary wall of the same material forms a hollow square framing this structure. Built with mainly exposed brick and concrete, this building is a perfect example of a cheap and sustainable urban housing unit.

In the process of refurbishing and building this 30 year old house compliant with Vaastu, the two extended exterior blocks were styled with bricks and concrete. The face of the brick featuring deep grouted Flanders zone is surrounded by exposed concrete and recycled wooden doors and windows. These functions help the exposed bricks maintain a continuum with a white mass of the building on the back and link with each other as a team.
