Free KSEB Roof Top Solar
The kerala state electricity board (KSEB) has announced plans to set up a minimum of about 500 MW of solar PV capacity the year 2021 under the states soura project. Electricity Board Limited’s Soura Roof Top Solar power plant project is getting good response from the public. The soura project aims to generate 500 MW renewable energy in three years. The plan is to generate 150 MW with support of domestic and agricultural consumers, 250 MW with the support of commercial and non-governmental buildings, and 100 MW electricity with the support of government buildings.
The project offers three different schemes to the consumer. In the first two schemes, KSEB will bear the expenses related to solar panel installation and maintenance. As per first scheme, consumer will get 10 per cent of the total produced electricity free of cost whereas in the second scheme consumer will get any quantity of electricity produced at a fixed rate.
The third scheme involves consumers investing into the solar power systems. Such consumers would be able to use the entire energy generated at their roof tops and will be entitled to sell the generated solar power completely or partially to the KSEBL-maximum number of land and buildings owners would be able to get the benefit of the scheme as the aim is to generate maximum quantity of electricity from solar energy.
