How to Increase 4G/LTE Speeds

The theoretical top takes place best while LTE makes use of 20 MHz channels to transmit records, meaning that one user must be quite near the transmitting tower and that the receiving cell ought to handiest incorporate a confined wide variety of customers – which, again, takes place simplest in principle. But, fast speeds arise close to the restriction and through our testing, we’ve visible human beings attain 10MB/s peaks on US networks.

In order to increase community performance and pressure the 4G-well suited handset/modem to attain higher speeds, some things may be carried out. Although the following hints may additionally raise transfers, remember that they may work simplest for some of you, relying at the community you’re currently, and even though they might work, outcomes may not be exalting.

Use an App: 3G/4G Speed Optimizer
Speed-Optimizer

There are several programs which declare to optimize community performance, but we only found few that have confirmed to be truthful, which include Speed Optimizer. Available for Android gadgets all around, this little tweak may be used best on rooted terminals and comes in both loose and paid flavors.

The Optimizer has a quite easy set of rules that permits the consumer to trade the most down load and upload speeds, limiting one in favor of the opposite. Moreover, it also permits it to alternate the GPRS Class, enforcing the bearer protocol to choose haste, rather than stability and vice versa. The Pro version of the app comes additionally with a ordinary Wi-Fi experiment tweak, a TCP Buffer changer and something to regulate RIL sleep guidelines.

Working with both 3G and 4G connections, the Speed Optimizer has the downside of eating battery existence and forcing the antenna to feed more, like regular.

Common Sense Techniques
Interference unfastened – area away the cellular phone and mainly the modem away from any other digital device, just to ensure that something might not interfere with the sign. Usually, household appliances like TVs, radios and specifically microwave ovens can reason slower speeds.
Maximize modem sign – 4G towers use waves to send traffic closer to the modem, so with a view to make certain that a high quantity of those waves reach the terminal, you must location the modem near a window. Avoid placing the unit in the back of whatever solid, like a concrete wall, metallic and in particular, trees (water discovered within the leaves has high have an effect on over signal loss).
Change position – orientating the modem function may additionally align its antenna with the one located at the tower, growing LTE sign energy. Although it sounds a bit voodoo, tower antennas are generally unidirectional and matching the right degree will improve speeds.

Amplify the signal
Best used for domestic or office environments, amplifiers may be seen as quite the funding when you need first-rate wireless net get right of entry to. For instance, someone wishing to enhance their 4G speed in the residence can collect a sign amplifier, a couple of well matched antennas and join them for terrific effects. The concept is as follows:

One antenna is placed outside the residence, on a fair altitude, with a purpose to capture more signal than the antenna set up at the handset can. This removes the attenuation resulting from the residence partitions and, depending on the antenna first-class, it will growth advantage dramatically.

Another antenna wishes to be mounted within the house, to retransmit the signal captured by the outdoor unit. This method will all over again help push aside the attenuation produced with the aid of residence partitions.
Between the 2 antennas, an amplifier have to be hooked up with the intention to growth the sign strength and help remove the feeder / cable loss.
Building this sort of machine isn’t always as complex as it sounds, and we have encountered cases where the entire set-up price simply around $seven-hundred. Moreover, this scenario can be carried out in zones where 4G cannot reach a regular terminal antenna, but where it’s close sufficient for a full-sized unit. Also, we advocate resorting to a specialized team for this sort of process.

Bonus: Faster 4G Connect and Rezist
Whenever a 4G link turns into volatile, and the measured signal electricity is under a positive threshold, the tower generally reconnects the terminal to a 3G machine which will ensure balance. There is a trick in order to permit the phone to connect with a 4G community sooner than regular, and stay connected longer.

Note: this manner works irrespective of the provider and ought to no longer damage the device, however issues may also seem (blame XDA). Here’s how to do it:

Dial ##DATA# and choose edit mode. That’s ##3282#, for those instead new.
Enter your MSL (here’s the way to discover it).
Now select the WiMAX menu and tweak the following settings, as said:
WiMAX_ENTRY_RX (RSSI) (dBm) – this value defines the minimum sign to hook up with a 4G tower, so lowering the default up to -95 or – one hundred have to make the cellphone connect quicker. If there are balance troubles, boost the fee returned to -89.
WiMAX_Exit_CINR(dB) – this value defines the brink for a cellphone to drop an energetic connection. Change the number to 1 and if troubles seem, transfer it back to two.
WiMAX_Exit_Delay(s) – this variety defines the time that CINR need to stay activated, before the connection is dropped. So, if you want to get with the aid of random drops, growth this to 5, or anything you want. Not too excessive, we propose.
Sprint users can also choose this manual, in an effort to make the terminal reconnect quicker than ever. Also, T-Mobile customers (and any other carriers that paintings on GSM frequencies) may also add these following traces to their rooted terminal, and restart the equipment to bring them in impact (the addition need to be finished in build.Prop):

ro.Ril.Hsxpa=2
ro.Ril.Gprsclass=12
ro.Ril.Hsdpa.Class=20
ro.Ril.Hsupa.Class=7
