It is a premium wood finish that gives richness of wood grain and beauty of nature. This finish is made from the resin secreted by the female lacugum of the tree, locally in the form of dried flakes and must dissolve in the solution before application. Shellac has been used for decades and is well suited for classical and contemporary wooden furniture and floor finishing. Shellac is used as a wood sealer and is also used for polishing wood products. It is available in the form of orange and white flakes. The biggest advantage of this finish is that it is easy to repair, as old shellac can easily scrape off with alcohol. Shellac’s new coat can be applied to existing finishes where it dissolves and blends with the old layer of shellac to form a fresh coat. Shellac is not water, so it is not suitable for areas such as kitchens or watermarks. White shellac is used as a place where concentrated solution of shellac and alcohol is used as a coating penetrating the surface of wood. Shellac gives the wood an amber color and is mainly used to polish the wood. It should be applied only in the direction of the grain using a blur, a brush or a sprayer. Three – four coat of shellac is necessary to finish wooden or flooring. The first coat of Shellac seals the wood and functions as a complete coat. Make sure shellac is sandwiched between the coats and let each coat dry. Classical or classic pieces are finished in French polish. It is a shiny, mirror-like finish achieved by several layers of many thin coats.
