1. Prepare Construction Site and Pour Foundation
Apply for and Acquire Permits
Construction Crew Levels Site
Puts Up Wooden Forms for the Temporary Foundation
Footings Are Installed
Before a builder can put a shovel within the floor, nearby government ought to approve the layout and offer lets in for everything from the zoning and grading (converting the contour of the land to house your home and driveway) to the septic structures, domestic construction, electric paintings, and plumbing. Once lets in are acquired, physical creation can start.

Often, web site education and foundation paintings are carried out by means of the identical crew, however this may no longer be the case with a wooded lot. Using a backhoe and a bulldozer, the team clears the website online of rocks, debris and trees for the residence and, if applicable, the septic gadget. The crew tiers the site, puts up timber paperwork to function a template for the muse and digs the holes and ditchs. Footings (systems where the residence interfaces with the earth that supports it) are hooked up. If your house is going to have a well, it will likely be dug at this factor.

If the house has a complete basement, the hollow is dug, the footings are shaped and poured, and the inspiration walls are fashioned and poured. If it’s slab-on-grade, the footings are dug, fashioned and poured; the place between them is leveled and fitted with application runs (e.G. Plumbing drains and electric chases); and the slab is poured.

Once concrete is poured into the holes and ditchs, it will want time to remedy. During this period, there could be no activity on the development website.

After the concrete is cured, the crew applies a waterproofing membrane to the muse partitions; installs drains, sewer, and water taps and any plumbing that wishes to enter the primary-floor slab or basement floor; and backfills excavated dust into the hole around the muse wall.

Inspection #1
When the curing technique is complete, a town inspector visits the web site to make sure foundation additives are as much as code and mounted properly. This inspection may be repeated depending on the form of basis (slab, crawl space or basement). Your builder will then remove the paperwork and start coordinating step No. 2, the framing section.

2. Complete Rough Framing
Floor System, Walls, Roof Systems Are Completed
Sheathing Applied to Exterior Walls, Covered With Protective Wrap
The ground structures, partitions and roof structures are finished (collectively called the shell or skeleton of the house). Plywood or oriented strand board (OSB) sheathing is implemented to the outdoors walls and roof and home windows and outdoors doorways are installed. The sheathing is then covered with a protective barrier known as a residence wrap; it prevents liquid water from infiltrating the shape whilst permitting water vapor to escape. This reduces the probability of mould and wood rot.

3. Complete Rough Plumbing, Electrical HVAC
The Following Are Installed:
Pipes and Wires
Sewer Lines and Vents
Water Supply Lines
Bathtubs, Shower Units
Ductwork for HVAC System
HVAC Vent Pipes
Once the shell is finished, siding and roofing may be set up. At the identical time, the electric and plumbing contractors start strolling pipes and wires through the indoors partitions, ceilings and flooring. Sewer strains and vents, as well as water supply traces for every fixture, are set up. Bathtubs and one-piece bathe/tub units are put in region at this point due to the fact there’s greater room to move big, heavy objects.

Ductwork is established for the heating, air flow and air con (HVAC) gadget, and possibly the furnace. HVAC vent pipes are set up thru the roof and insulation is installed within the flooring, partitions and ceilings.

After the roofing is going on, the house is considered “dried in.” An electrician then installs receptacles for outlets, lighting fixtures and switches and runs wires from the breaker panel to each receptacle. Wiring for telephones, cable TV and track structures is covered in this work.

Note that HVAC ducts and plumbing are typically established before wiring because it’s easier to run wires around pipes and ducts than vice versa.
