Automatic Water Tap Without Using Microcontroller

Water scarcity is really one of the most crucial problems plaguing the sector in recent times. To save you this from becoming any worse, we need to consciousness on water conservation.

Water is the most treasured useful resource in the international, and it’s miles our duty to keep it. But knowingly or unknowingly, we generally generally tend to waste a selection of water every day. One of the most obvious water-dropping behavior is forgetting to show off the tap after the use of it or leaving the water strolling even as brushing our teeth, shaving or doing the dishes.

To help reduce water wastage from taps, we supply to you a clever solution. Today in this DIY assignment, we can be growing a clever water faucet that robotically turns off at the same time as you are not the use of it. It will mechanically activate while it detects hand or glass close to it and turn off after the sector is stuffed.

This automatic faucet can be applied in diverse sectors like commercial automation or even in water vending system.

We are going to use I.R proximity sensors in our prototype. While one sensor detects the item or hand near it to reveal on/off the water flow, each different sensor is established on top of the tap to encounter the water degree. When this sensor detects that the field is full of water up to the pinnacle, it without delay cuts the drift of water.

Components we need
2 Channel Relay Boards
2 I.R sensor Modules
Solenoid valve
Some wires
A water tap
Water pipe
5V D.C battery
12 to 24 V A.C to D.C Power adapter (in step with requirement of your solenoid valve).
Connection
First, we need to attach the floor wires of the sensors and relay module to the terrible terminal of a 5V battery. After that be part of the VCC wires of the relay module and sensors to the wonderful terminal of the battery. Then join the output of the primary sensor to relay input pin 1 and second sensor output pin to relay module enter pin 2.

Then be a part of the solenoid valve one wire to N.C (Normally Close) a part of relay 1 and a few other cord to No (Normally Open) part of relay 2. After this join the not unusual 1 of relay 1 to terrible 24 V DC energy and common pin of relay 2 to horrific of 24 V DC electricity deliver. Refer Fig 1 for connection of components.

Working and Testing.
Our circuit is based upon on two sensors for its operation. While one sensor detects the object/hand close to it, the opportunity sensor detects the level of water crammed in the box. When the first sensor detects an object, it gives signal to relay 1 that results inside the movement of plunger of relay module toward Normally Open and the valve gets related to the “Normally Open 1” wire of the relay module. After the circuit is finished, water begins flowing thru the valve. When the sensor 2 detects that the glass/area is crammed as lots as the pinnacle, it offers signal to the second one relay enter and the plunger of relay pass to disconnect the valve circuit, automatically turning off the water flow. This device work more because it must be even as you use the coloured smooth drink or with any juice. With water due to low reflection the flow of water will forestall when the water degree touch the I.R sensor.
