This is one area where granite dominates. Quartz generally has heat resistance, but there is no performance outdoors such as an accent wall or an outdoor kitchen. The surface may fade and discolor after long-term exposure to sunlight. On the reverse side, natural stone like granite was born to survive sunlight and other weather elements. In other words, there is no truly unique counter top for quartz. If you want a unique work surface, it is best to stick a granite or other type of natural stone surface.
