Onion Crop Cultivation Guide

Plant onions when the ground can be worked in the spring, typically late March or April. Ensure temperature doesn’t go beneath 20 degrees F.

Select an area with full Sun where your onions won’t be shaded by different plants.
Soil should be all around depleted, free, and rich in nitrogen; smaller soil influences knob improvement.
Till in matured excrement or manure the fall before planting. Onion plants are substantial feeders and need steady sustenance to create huge knobs.

At planting time, you can blend in some nitrogen manure, as well, and side dress at regular intervals until the point that the bulbing procedure starts.
Seeding? Onion seeds are fleeting. In the case of planting seeds inside, begin with crisp seeds every year. Begin seeds inside around a month and a half before transplanting.
For sets or transplants, plant the littler sets 1 inch profound, with 4 to 5 creeps between each plant and in columns 12 to 18 inches separated.

Consider onions a leaf trim, not a root edit. When planting onion sets, don’t cover them more than one inch under the dirt; if more than the base third of the knob is underground, globule development can be limited.
