Julie found a wooden mantle at a garage sale. This couple considered one day to use it for an indoor fireplace, but instead decided to have an outdoor fire pit. This mantle got a new life as a mirror frame of an old recycling store. The couple cooperated with the color designer Carol Burton to determine the palette. We asked Carol to be a neutral third party. She was able to clip magazines stacked on us. We cut out a specimen of each color we liked individually, and Carol created a palette representing the colors we commonly had. The wooden floor is original. “On these old floors, the tung oil product Watrelox discovered by Julie was a benefactor of God, we did not want to urethanize them, I added some coats to replenish the oil and rejuvenate. One of the most beautiful elements of the house is the staircase made of Austin’s metal supplier, Todd Campbell’s seat copper.
