House tour and my family

Architect David Henig noticed the capacity in this treehouse-like midcentury modern-day home in Atherton, California, and set approximately renovating it in a manner that worked for his own family whilst honoring its unique layout.
Readers cherished the authentic trusses and covered walkway, new coloration-blocked kitchen cabinetry and the addition of a tumbler-enclosed stairway that looks out on a sunken garden.
The designers at m.O.Daby design helped a wine-loving couple carry their dream of a current residence overlooking meadows and grapevines in Oregon’s wine us of a to fruition.
Inspired by means of the seems of a local garden shed, they came up with a palette of traditional substances, together with the standing-seam metal shed roof and unfinished cedar board-and-batten siding, rendered in a present day shape.
Readers clearly answered to the couple’s favourite perch on the porch for enjoying local wines, their massive edible gardens and their adorable chickens.
The unique Joseph Eichler-designed house that stood here burned to the floor, lamentably. But that gave the owners an opportunity to rebuild a domestic with the larger spaces they preferred. With the help of architect John Klopf and Eichler professional Henry Calvert, they crafted a brand new domestic that respects the historic Eichler community in San Mateo, California.

The new layout includes a full wall of glass that opens the interior to the outside, a new visitor suite, an enlarged garage and a new main bedroom and tub that open to the pool. The respectful execution, superbly proportioned areas and strong indoor-out of doors connections were what impressed readers most.
